Jennifer Berthelot-Jelovic, is the President and CEO of A SustainAble Production, LLC (ASAP). ASAP is a woman owned, full-service, global sustainability and Wellness consulting firm based in Los Angeles, CA. ASAP provides an array of holistic global consulting services including sustainable, regenerative, resilient and healthy design & construction for single buildings, communities and entire cities; LEED certification; WELL certification; Living Building Challenge; Net Zero; Waste Audits; and more.
Jennifer is an expert in the International WELL Building Institute’s (IWBI) WELL Building Standard. Jennifer was one of the first Provisional WELL APs, WELL APs, and WELL Faculty in the world. As a WELL Consultant, Jennifer has worked on various WELL Pilots and Projects. Jennifer was a Peer Reviewer for v1.0 of the Standard, and continues to contribute to the development of WELL and its Pilots. Jennifer is featured on the IWBI website, and in their global education and marketing footage. Jennifer has had the unique experience of being a Consultant to both Delos and IWBI; as well as working with WELL in various phases on over 100 projects around the country and world. Jennifer works with Global companies as they explore WELL for their projects and portfolios.
As a holistic wellness and sustainability Consultant; Jennifer has extensive experience with the USGBC’s various LEED rating systems including LEED for Homes, New Construction, Core & Shell, Commercial Interiors, LEED for Schools, Retail, LEED Volume, and more. She is currently working on many projects seeking Net Zero certification. Jennifer is LEED Faculty, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP Homes, and OSHA 30 certified. Jennifer’s contribution to some of the most innovative and “first of their kind” sustainability projects in the country and world, has been invaluable.
Jennifer brings a true passion and commitment to green building and sustainability. She exemplifies a deep level of technical proficiency and is experienced and knowledgeable in the application of multiple WELL, LEED and other rating systems. Jennifer has provided significant contributions to LEED and WELL projects, and is adept at identifying technical or procedural solutions to green building and wellness challenges. Jennifer has continued to be an innovative leader and has demonstrated a sustained level of accomplishment for over a decade.
Jennifer consulted on what has been considered one of the most innovative and “ahead of its time projects” for sustainability and wellness, Step Up On Vine. This LEED for Homes Platinum certified permanent supportive housing project for chronically homeless and mentally ill individuals in Hollywood, CA took into account the occupants’ health and well-being. SUOV addressed many of the features now found in the WELL Building Standard.
Jennifer is overseeing the consulting of certifications for many firsts in WELL, LEED, and Net Zero. Current Projects and Pilots include WELL for Warehouses; WELL for Senior Living; LEED, WELL, and Net Zero for a new high school campus; and more.
Jennifer is a leader within the USGBC-Los Angeles Chapter, the USGBC National Movement, the WELL Movement, and in the fields of green building and wellness in general. She plays a vital role in instituting and applying sustainability and wellness practices and procedures within her own company, the USGBC, within clients’ projects, and the greater community. Jennifer is on the Board of the USGBC-LA Chapter and was the Secretary and Vice Chair from 2012 to 2015. She was also the Chair, Co-Chair & Founding Member of the San Fernando Valley Branch of the USGBC-LA Chapter. Jennifer demonstrates a history of commitment and service to green building. Previously, she served as the Chair of the San Fernando Valley Green Building Task Force and a Board Member of the San Fernando Valley Green Team. Jennifer also joined the Los Angeles Urban Land Institute’s “Building Healthy Places” Steering Committee in 2015. She received the Los Angeles Business Journal’s prestigious “Women Making a Difference” Rising Star Award in 2014.
